Collegiate Racing
Campers that have completed minimally the LTR in the Club 420 Class are invited to partake in the Collegiate Racing Program. Sailed in the SBJSA Club 420s this program introduces the fundamentals of competition using the trapeze and spinnaker. The boat of choice for all colleges is the 420. Two person crews compete at all the sailing colleges and most use the specially prepared 420's with spinnaker.
The Collegiate program will take place on each Friday of the summer and is open to the racers. An additional fee covers the Friday tuition and costs associated in equipping our 420s with not only the extra gear but the wear and tear on the spinnakers.
